I am going to have my senior class keep a journal on notely. They are reading Catcher in the Rye and this will be where they keep their response to their reading. I am hoping there will be no problem with everyone signing on (I know it takes time to land) but if I do it a few days before they need to start, it should be ok.......

I had some students help me in Garage band, I hope to use it for my presentations. i don't think I can upload it to Notely but I could still use for fun. I am happy with notely for what it is. Students can keep their stuff online and access it from anywhere. a lot like noteshare with out the software/ but it doesn't have as many options. I am also feeling some pressure to work on the wedding planner. my daughter wants to open it to correspondence from guests eeeekkkk!

Had a conversation with students about facebook and myspace. Seems like myspace is the least favorite. They consider it the most likely to have sketchy people trying to contact them. They also feel a little weird having teachers and adults asking to be friends. some seem to thing you shouldn't be friends with teachers until you have graduated....They also use facebook to keep track of homework assignments (who knew) and what is going on in school.......sounds good to me
now I need to have them explore notely and find out what they think of it

reading everyone's comments on twitter and the news. It seems now that I am on twitter that every part of the media is talking about Twitter. I talked to my sister in Boston and there was a juror who was twittering during the trial and now they are calling for a mistrial. Ethics is rearing its head. Also read an article about bloggs rating certain businesses and how it affects their business. Slander on the web...who is rating these establishments? We touched on this last week during one of discussions...guess this is the pioneer stage of the internet

Well I have been plugging information in to Notely for my presentation. It is easy to copy and paste notes right into this tool. I am figuring out the whiteboard and putting in contacts.
takes time to find my way.....Now that we know laptops might be on the way for high school students, this would be a real deal.....

What dreams may come. Trying to sleep last night, I had visions of my presentation. I need to see if I can embed audio into this notely. I would like to have students give examples of why they would benefit from using this tool. I hope it will work. Voicethread is pretty cool. I have read blogs that discuss this tool.

just read the blog and wiki article. I love it. I was very busy writing down the blogs to check out. I should be working on Notely, but I am so interested in checking out teachers blogs. As far as professional development days, the best part is always the discussions we sneak in when we have some lame task to do....sound like one of our kids I know but it is true. having the time to share our experiences (good or bad) is always productive....back later

I have set up my notely page....I will model how I would use it as a student....it has some great options.....you can import notes, web sites, It is a lot like noteshare but with more options. It is based from the UK so there are some language differences......the mother tongue is always so difficult.....You can make up quizzes......tests.........schedules..........equations......it is pretty cool.

I have decided to do the notely tool for my presentation. It is an organizational tool for students. I has schedule options, note taking , and many other tools. I am not sure if it has a sharing option so I am going to check it out........for students with laptops (we don't have them in high school) it would be a neat thing.

I have added the church location, the reception location, and some info on the New England Outdoor center. This tool is not just a site for wedding information for guests, it is also offers a forum for discussion on weddings, what worked what did not work.
I also added a picture of Lindsay and Eric ( I don't know if they will like it) this is an easy way to give out info and updates on what is going on.....save the dates......hotel info....all the stuff for out of town guests.......
For first time wedding planners, I think it will prove to be useful
